1. Learn how to make Soap: Making soap is a fun hobby that can turn into a full time business or at least a way to make a little extra money. Before you can succeed at selling soap you must become an expert and refine the technique or formulae to use.
There are two main methods :

The Cold process of soap making which is the most common method
It can take two weeks for the soap to hardened.

The Hot process of making soap requires you to cook the soap. This method requires no hardening time and can make it easier to add scents and colours. If you are new into soap making check local crafts.

2.Develop a unique formulae: if you want to make a product that  stands out like scents, colours and moisturizing  you create a soap of high quality.

3. Get the soap making equipment: 
*  Mixer
* Hydrometer
* Molds
* Labels
* Stamp
* Wrappers
* Cartons
* Get  the soap ingredients (chemicals) to use.

4. Develop your brand
- Create a unique and memorable company name.
- using special shapes for your soap
- Embossing the soap with letters
- Wrapping the soap in special papers or ribbons
- Creating a logo.
- Market your Soap

5.  Find Suppliers or Distributors for your soap who will aid you in marketing your brand and  reaching out to customers.

Steps on how to make Laundry Soap
Equipments needed for making soap are listed as follows: 

- Soap molds
- metallic stamp for labelling
- cutting machine
- trimming machine
- hydrometer
- safety gloves
- face masks
- Hand gloves
- Plastic containers
- wooden turning stick
- wrap wrappers
- weighing scale
- mixers with stirrer
- measuring containers

Ingredients and their measurement
Caustic soda:  - 1kg
Palm kernel oil - 6 litres
Soda ash  0.5kg
Sodium sulphate: 0.5 litres
Sodium silicate - 0.5 litres
Colour to taste
Water
Fragrance to taste or perfume.

Method of making laundry bar soap
Step 1: Prepare the caustic soda solution by dissolving the 1kg of caustic soda in 4.5 litres if water, confirm that it was density of 1275kg/meter cubic.

Step 2:  Add soda ash to the caustic soda solution stir vigorously until well blended.

Step 3: Add the colourant to the PKO before adding the chemical solution.

Step 4: Add the PKO to the mixture and continue stirring vigorously clockwise direction only for some minutes.

Step 5: Add the fragrance and pour into molds and allow solidification for 24 hours, stamp, shape, package and your soap is ready for the market.

Toilet Bar Soap Making:

Procedure: Equipments required same as in the production of laundry bar soap
Chemicals Required: 
1. PKO ( 3 litres)
2. Caustic soda ( 1 kg)
3. Coconut oil - 2 litres
4. Bleached Palm oil
5.Silicate
6. Colourant
7. Perfume to taste
8. Titanium dioxide ( optional)
9. Glycerine

Procedure: 

Step 1:  Prepare the caustic soda solution.

Step 2: Pour the oil into the mixer and start heating.

Step 3: When it warm add colourant and mix properly till uniformly blend.

Step 4:  Add the caustic soda solution and continue boiling and stirring.

Step  5: When all have blended add sodium silicate and turn off the water, when the temperature drops add fragrance.

Step 6: Allow hardening for 6-8 hours, shape, stamp and package for the market.

After all these steps taken your bar soap is ready for sale.
